Here is a selection of resources that students and families may find helpful. Please note that inclusion on this list is not an endorsement. Further, links sometimes change. As with all internet usage, please use care in visiting sites.
POWERSCHOOL PORTAL
Parent/Student Powerschool Portal: The Parent/Student Powerschool Portal is the place to go to access your science textbooks if you are a student in K-5th grade. Please use your network username and password (the one you use to login to a computer at school). If you don’t know your password, please check with your teacher!

National Geographic GeoBee Quiz:  A daily geography bee challenge
Trivia Plaza: A variety of online geography quizzes. Site also includes quizzes on other subjects.

Find a Book

Lexile Book Finder:  Parents can use this resource to identify books that will appropriately challenge your child’s skills and spark their interest. For students in grades 1 through 7, your Lexile score will appear on your MAP report, which will be included with your end-of-year report card. Parents can also complete a brief online survey to help identify reading options. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click “Find a Book” to begin your search. International Reading Association Recommendations:  Lists of books recommended by teachers as well as young readers themselves.

Student Assistance Program – Bully Form

Hawthorn Student Assistance Program:  Hawthorn’s Student Assistance Program (SAP) provides a comprehensive model for the delivery of K-8 prevention, intervention, and support services.  SAP is designed to reduce student risk factors, promote protective factors and increase asset development. This site includes resources to support parents and students, including the Report a Bully form, which allows students and parents to anonymously report situations. Onlineschools.org has released a bullying and cyberbullying guide to provide information and resources to schools, parents,and students to better understand and help prevent bullying in schools and online.
