Medications

Medication may be administered in school by the nurse with a written request from the child's parents and physician. This includes all prescription medications, inhalers, and all over the counter medications, including such things as Tylenol or allergy preparations. Written orders from the physician and parent are required for any changes during the school year. These medication orders must be renewed each school year.

Medications must be brought to school in the purchased container or prescription bottle with the correct dosage and labeling. Parents should bring the medications to school unless other arrangements are made, in advance, with the Nurse. Any medications not picked up at the end of the year will be discarded.

You can download the Medication Administration Form (requires Adobe Acrobat) or obtain it from the Nurse at your child's school.

For students with specific health needs, please download and complete any of the applicable management plans and return them to your school nurse.
