Educational Facilities Master Plan Information

Hawthorn School District 73 is seeking the participation of community members in a brief online survey to gauge community perceptions of the school district and its facility planning efforts. The survey should take no longer than 10 minutes to complete.

The District will hold a series of meetings for the public to discuss their perceptions about the District and its facilities planning efforts with Board of Education members. See below.

Hawthorn Middle School students took part in a three-week babysitting course with Miss Weinstein through the Hawthorn Enrichment Institute. They worked on learning all the babysitting essentials. Each student took care of a baby egg for a week to learn responsibility. They also created resumes, business cards, fun treats for kids, and a list of activities to take with them babysitting in the future. Fireman Tony came and gave the students a brief overview of infant and child CPR. During the last week of class, the students went into a first grade classroom to read with the little ones.
