High Level Strategy #2

Implement a plan that identifies the Facilities and Resources required to provide an equitable distribution of those resources across the District.

      • The reorganization plan for the district aligns our building resources more efficiently.
      • The newly negotiated teacher contract realigns our commitment to salaries to income from taxes.
      • District budget builds in approximately $500,000 for technology needs in the schools. The addition of a technology fee was added to generate needed funds for electronic student devices.
      • A cooperative agreement for the Lincoln Early Childhood Center provides services to prekindergarten and early childhood students.
      • The technology refresh plan and infrastructure plans have been updated.
      • The district curriculum budget was increased to provide additional resources to educational programming.
      • Replaced 1,100 student laptops since the fall of 2014.
      • The district’s bandwidth was doubled to support instructional use of technology.
      • All classrooms were equipped with LCD projectors.

Human Resources

      • Utilization of HUMANeX to provide common district protocols for the selection of excellent teachers, and multiply excellence within our staff at Hawthorn School District 73.
      • Utilization of exit interviews to learn about the district’s strengths and weaknesses to help understand how to best satisfy and retain excellent employees.
      • Implementation of the  HUMANeX Culture Survey (Fall 2015) to guide our district in creating a workplace environment that increases the excellence within our district which is critical to long term success.
