D128 Lace Up 4 Learning Run/Walk - May 28

The District 128 Foundation for Learning invites runners and walkers to take part in the 2nd Annual Lace Up 4 Learning on Monday, May 28 beginning at 8 a.m. at the Old School Forest Preserve, Libertyville. Race proceeds benefit the Foundations efforts to enrich the learning experiences and programs for students in Community High School District 128 (VHHS and LHS). Dark Days Author Tour - June 8, 2012

Cook Memorial Library is bringing the “Dark Days Author Tour” to our library district on Friday, June 8 beginning at 6 p.m.  The event, which will be held at the Libertyville Civic Center, will feature a panel of fantastic Young Adult authors, including Veronica Roth, Aprilynne Pike, Bethany Griffin and Elisabeth Norris. MHS Summer Football Camp

Mundelein High School announces the 2012 Youth Football Camp, from July 9 through 13. Camp is available for players in grades 3 through 8, separated into age groups. Instruction is provided by MHS football staff and varsity players who will cover fundamentals including strike progression, tackling, 7-on-7 passing, and position specific drills. White Deer Run Junior Golf Clinics

White Deer Run Golf Club will be offering junior golf clinics throughout summer starting June 11, 2012. We would once again like to offer this learning opportunity to kids, ages 7-17, in the Hawthorn 73 School District. The junior golf clinics are open to kids who play golf as well as those who are new to the game. We offer a fun environment for them to learn about golf while developing their playing skills. Lakeside Looking for Bus Drivers

Mundelein’s Barefoot Bay Open House - May 25

Mundelein Park District is holding a free Open House on Friday, May 25 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Barefoot Bay Family Aquatic Center located at 1461 N. Midlothian Road, Mundelein - just behind the Mundelein Community Center. Get a behind-the-scenes look at the water park, meet the lifeguards, sample the concessions and more. Greater Libertyville Soccer Association (GLSA) - Register Now for Rec and Competitive Programs

The Greater Libertyville Soccer Association (GLSA) is now accepting online registration for fall recreational soccer leagues as well as holding tryouts for the competitive program - http://www.glsa.org. Recreational soccer is available for boys (PreK through 9th grade) and girls (PreK through 12th grade), with online registration running through June 30. The fall rec soccer season runs from September 8/9 through November 3/4. Check the Youth Programs tab under “Recreational.” Tryouts for GLSA’s Competitive League U8-U18 begin the week of May 29. Check the “Competitive League” tab for specific dates and times for your age group. Spring Cleaning!  Scout Rummage Sale Opportunity!  May 19 Sale!

Mark your calendar for the Boy Scout Troop 273 Rummage Sale on May 19th at the Vernon Hills Public Works – 490 Greenleaf.  As you do your spring cleaning, please think about donating items to our sale.  Please save up your donations and contact .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) to arrange a pick up.
