The College of Lake County is offering a girls volleyball club for middle school students. The idea is to offer students a club experience at a low/reasonable cost and eliminate the travel aspect - all activities will be held at the College of Lake County, Grayslake. Parents familiar with the recruiting process as well as the actual travel events have reported a range of experiences, both positive and negative. As with any opportunity, parents who receive a letter on behalf of their child are encouraged to research the program and make the best decision for their student.

The Village of Vernon Hills encourages residents and people working in Vernon Hills to sign up for their broadcast email system. The Village will be relying more heavily on the broadcast email as well as their website for communications because they will no longer publish the Village Voice newsletter. It’s easy to sign up for broadcast emails, which automatically provide news right to your inbox. Just log on to the Vernon Hills website, www.vernonhills.org, and click on the Broadcast E-mail Sign Up. You can also sign up for Emergency Reverse 911 notification by clicking on the Connect-CTY button. These are free services. If you would like assistance, please call the Village Hall at 847-367-3700.
Dr. William Kisker of Dental Care of Vernon Hills will offer free dental exams for students who need it for school and who cannot afford it. Students entering Kindergarten, 2nd and 6th grades or transferring from out of Illinois are required to provide proper documentation from a dentist. Thank you to Dr. Kisker for his kind offer.
