Hawthorn uses a variety of tools to analyze student progress. One powerful tool is the Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) test, a computer-based assessment that students take each fall and spring.

This fall, MAP testing will take place from September 13 through 24. Parents and students are reminded that as students progress into higher-level content, they will be asked questions they may not have covered in the classroom as MAP works to find each student’s strengths as well as areas where support is needed. Encourage your student to do his or her best, but help them understand that as they get to the end of their customized testing session, they are not expected to know all of the answers. The best way to approach MAP testing is as you approach any successful school day — get a good night’s sleep and eat a healthy breakfast.
