Townline Welcomes New Principal, Dr. Victoria Kieffer

Hawthorn Townline Elementary is pleased to welcome Dr. Victoria Kieffer as new principal. She will begin her role starting in the fall, with the retirement of current principal Karen Cencula. Though she won’t begin with Hawthorn until the fall, Dr. Kieffer will be on hand during the Townline Family Night on Friday, February 24 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. to meet the community.


Dr. Kieffer comes to Hawthorn from Woodland District 50 in Gurnee, where she has been assistant principal of Woodland Elementary East School since 2006. Prior to that she served as Curriculum Supervisor for the Woodland District, and also as a classroom teacher at Twin Groves Middle School and Wauconda Middle School. She is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Chicago, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Teaching of English, a Masters of Education in Leadership and Administration, and a Doctorate in Curriculum Studies. Welcome, Dr. Kieffer – and best wishes to Ms. Cencula as she prepares for life post-Hawthorn!
