District Information / Vision / Hearing

Illinois State law requires that schools screen students for vision problems in kindergarten, second, and eighth grades, as well as all new students, teacher or parent referrals, and students who receive special education services.


Hearing screening is required for students in kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades, as well as for students receiving special education services, new students, and teacher or parent referrals.


The Nurses notify parents if results indicate that a student’s vision or hearing needs further evaluation. Financial assistance is available to families that do not have health insurance. Please ask the Nurse in your child’s building for information.
