Summer Programs
Hawthorn District 73 offers three summer learning opportunities:
- Hawthorn Enrichment Institute (HEI)
- Hawthorn Band and Orchestra Camp
- Jump Start Summer Scholars
More information will be available about the summer 2012 programs beginning in Spring 2012.
Session I: June 18 through June 28, 2012
Session II: July 9 through July 19, 2012
HEI Explore Mini-Session: July 2, 3 and 5, 2012
Monday through Thursday mornings – 8 a.m. to noon (New time!)
Hawthorn Enrichment offers a variety of enrichment opportunities for students in grades K-8 (grades as of following fall) to explore art, music, technology, math, writing, reading, athletic camps, online learning opportunities and more. Before- and after-HEI care is available through the Vernon Hills Park District.
More information, including registration materials, will be available in Spring 2012.

Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Includes a closing concert beginning at 1 p.m. on August 3.
Hawthorn Summer Band and Orchestra Camp offers a mix of lessons, group performance and fun for band and orchestra students with at least one year of experience. Registration information will be available from this website and from your band teacher in Spring 2012.
Jump Start Summer Scholars is a grant-funded program designed to boost students’ core literacy and math skills and help them transition into the fall schedule. The invitation-only program is available for each grade level. Invitations are expected to be mailed in late spring.
