Our Mission: To enhance the education of our children by promoting the connection between home, school, and the community. |
With your help, the PTO provided over $16,000 in programs and communication services and $7,162 in free books and educational materies earned through our Book Fairs during the 2008-2009 school year and distributed an additional $79,700 to the district schools on a per capita basis to fund hundreds of educational 'extras' at the school level to be used during the 2009-2010 school year. So, join in the fun, and watch the amazing things we can do when we work together! For more information, please view our brochure in English or Spanish.
What’s for Dinner?
Let the PTO help you plan next week's menu. Watch your backpack mail for a great new PTO fundraiser. All you have to do is eat and drink to raise money. A calendar of delicious dinner options for you and your family at great local restaurants will be coming home in today's backpack mail. Some restaurants will also be participating for lunch as well as dinner. Be sure to check the calendar for availability. Participating restaurants will donate a portion of EACH CHECK back to the PTO when presented with one of our tickets. Participating restaurants include: On The Border, roti, Chuck E. Cheese, Baker's Square, Kaiser's, Jason's Deli, McDonalds, McCarthy's, Famous Dave's, Buffalo Wild Wings, Bo-Bo's, Culver's, Jersey Mike's, IHOP, and Dunkin' Donuts. The calendar/tickets can be found on the Restaurant Week committee page.Help Needed!!
Our current Market Day chair is “graduating” out of the district so we are desperately in need of someone (or two) that would be able to be the Market Day chair(s) for next year. This is a great fundraiser that will allow you to meet many people at the nine Market Days during the school year – summers are off!! Also, the volunteers – both PTO volunteers and student volunteers, are wonderful to work with! Please consider this worthwhile position. If you would like more information regarding it, you can contact the current chair, Tacy Borgman, at 847-549-9621. If interested, please complete an application or contact Susan Jones directly with your information. Susan can be contacted at 847-816-8781 or email susan1444@comcast.net.
HOUSE WALK IS COMING!
Each year five or more area homes in Hawthorn 73 open their doors to show off their amazing style in the annual PTO House Walk. Throngs of people come through to get great ideas and enjoy the unique designs. Are you a designer, florist, or other type of home decorator? We're looking for more people to get involved with this great event. And it's a wonderful way to get your name out to the community. Please consider joining us for this special event. Call or e-mail Tanya Cooper 847 573-8435, tfcart@yahoo.com or Donna Lawless 847-984-2747, dml1368@comcast.net to get more information or to offer your services. We'll make a great partnership!WANTED: Beautiful Homes!
Would you like to freshen up your home for Spring? How about some FREE advice from an interior decorator? How can you make that happen? It's simple...all you have to do is showcase your home in this year's 2010 PTO House Walk on Sunday, May 23rd! Do you know someone in our district with a beautiful home? Consider recommending them as a participant in our 2010 PTO House Walk. It will benefit your friend and the PTO! Our committee is also in need of committee members. This is a great chance to have fun and raise money for Hawthorn District 73 Schools! We need help on the day of the event and for the days leading up to the event. Any time commitment would be greatly appreciated. We hope you'll join us!! If you are interested in showcasing your home, have a recommendation for a home on our House Walk or would like to volunteer (for one day or more), please contact Tanya Cooper at tfcart@yahoo.com.Mark Your Calendars
