Jeffrey Bard has lived in District 73 since 1999. He and his wife, Lori, live in Vernon Hills with their two children who attend Hawthorn schools. Jeff has been involved as a volunteer in the community with the Vernon Hills Park District, GLSA soccer program, and the Boy Scouts. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Engineering & Public Policy and an MBA. Jeff is an environmental manager. (Term ends April 2019)

Jayson Tran

Jayson Tran has lived in Hawthorn District 73 since 1995. He and his wife, Michelle, live in Vernon Hills with two children who attend Hawthorn schools. A third daughter, also a Hawthorn graduate, is currently a student at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He previously served on the board from September 2003 through April 2005. Jayson has been active within his school district and community including serving on the district referendum committee, strategic planning committee and as a Junior Achievement volunteer and youth sports coach (soccer, softball & hockey). Born in Vietnam, Jayson grew up in Madison, Wisconsin and holds a bachelor’s degree from UW-Madison and a master’s degree from Illinois Institute of Technology. He is currently a software engineer at Nokia’s Mobile Broadband Unit. (Term ends April 2019)

Robin Cleek

Robin Cleek attended Hawthorn schools as a child and returned to reside in Vernon Hills with her husband in 2004. As of August, 2015 all three of her children will be enrolled in the district. Over the past several years she has volunteered at various PTO events and weekly in the classroom, as well as serving on the Reorganization Committee in the spring of 2014. Robin has a Bachelor of Science in Child & Family Studies from the University of Wisconsin and a Juris Doctor from Loyola University Chicago School of Law. She currently stays home with her children but still practices law when called upon by family and friends. (Term ends April 2019)

Sonali Patil

Sonali Patil

Sonali resides in Vernon Hills with her husband and two children. She was a member of the district‘s Strategic Planning Committee and has volunteered in her children’s schools. Sonali has a Ph.D in pharmacology from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a bachelor’s degree in pharmaceutical sciences from the University of Bombay in India. She currently stays at home to care for her children. (Term ends April 2019)

Jeanne Engelkemeir

Jeanne Martinelli Engelkemeir and her husband Greg have lived in Hawthorn School District 73 since 2001. Their two children are currently Hawthorn students, and Jeanne has actively volunteered in their classrooms and numerous community endeavors, as well as hosting foreign exchange students. Jeanne’s own teaching experience has spanned continents and age levels, and she has served as the State of Illinois Art Gallery Education Consultant. Jeanne has a BS in International Studies/Cross-Cultural Communications and graduate degrees in French, Interdisciplinary Arts Education, and other educational fields. Jeanne is currently a French teacher at Carmel Catholic High School in Mundelein. (Term ends April 2017)

Lou Gatta

Lou Gatta has lived in District 73 since 2009. He and his wife, Jennifer, live in Vernon Hills with their two children. Lou has been involved as a volunteer in the community with the Vernon Hills Park District. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts/Music and has composed and produced music for movies and TV commercials. Lou has worked in education as a high school jazz band director and is currently General Manager at Niles Central High School. (Term ends April 2017)

Ghita Mueller

Ghita Mueller has lived in Hawthorn District 73 since 2006. She and her husband, Keith, have two beautiful daughters who both attend Hawthorn schools. Ghita has been an active volunteer within her school district and community, including her efforts for Literacy Volunteers of America, GLSA and GiGi’s Playhouse, a Down Syndrome Awareness Center. She has a B.S. in Marketing from the University of Illinois and has worked in corporate America for Viacom/Showtime Networks within the sales and marketing departments. Since 2003, Ghita has worked as a residential real estate broker in Lake County and is currently working for Coldwell Banker. (Term ends April 2017)
