Each Teacher Institute Day provides an opportunity for teachers and staff to collaborate, learn from each other, and gain knowledge of new materials or techniques in their areas of teaching. While it is a school day without students, everything that takes place is for the benefit of every child in the school district. The October 5 Institute Day featured keynote speaker, Dr. Paula Kluth, who gave teachers new ideas about incorporating joyful learning, as well as inclusive, engaging and responsive opportunities into their classrooms. Teachers continued to work on their guaranteed and viable curriculum. Teacher leaders facilitated sessions on effective instructional practices that improve student achievement. The next day, teachers returned to their classrooms inspired by what they had learned.
