Bernie’s Book Bank will hold a one-day children’s book drive at Mellody Farm on Saturday, Nov. 7. Please bring your new and gently used children’s books to donate in the trunk of your car for a touch-free drop off.
Boy Scouts of America has scheduled an online information session on October 28 at 8 p.m. The local Cub Scout Pack is registering new youth at this time.
Christ Church in Lake Forest is hosting a safe and socially distanced “Trunk or Treat” event for families on Sunday, Oct. 25, from 3 to 5 p.m. The church’s parking lot will be transformed into a neighborhood of trunks ready to give kids a treat.

Countryside Fire Protection District in partnership with the ILDNR will present a snowmobile safety course on Saturday, Oct. 3 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Vernon Hills High School.
The Center for Gifted/Midwest Torrance Center for Creativity is offering in-person remote learning supervision and support. It is also offering in-person small group sessions for social interaction and friend group programs covering a variety of course topics. All classes are maximum 10 children and follow specific public health guidelines.
