These webpages are designed to share information of interest to Hawthorn families, while also reducing the amount of paper going home with our students. Inclusion on this page does not mean that Hawthorn endorses any of these programs. Rather, we are simply passing along information. All information presented here must be associated with organizations that are local, non-profit, open to all of our student community and/or otherwise of potential benefit to our students or parents. Hawthorn has the right to refuse to post any item that does not meet these criteria and may limit the amount of time it is posted to two weeks. Bernie’s Book Bank Holds Book Drive on Nov. 7

Bernie’s Book Bank will hold a one-day children’s book drive at Mellody Farm on Saturday, Nov. 7. Please bring your new and gently used children’s books to donate in the trunk of your car for a touch-free drop off.

Local Cub Scout Pack Is Registering New Youth

Boy Scouts of America has scheduled an online information session on October 28 at 8 p.m. The local Cub Scout Pack is registering new youth at this time.

Trunk or Treat Event

Christ Church in Lake Forest is hosting a safe and socially distanced “Trunk or Treat” event for families on Sunday, Oct. 25, from 3 to 5 p.m. The church’s parking lot will be transformed into a neighborhood of trunks ready to give kids a treat.

Fall Offerings at the Center for Gifted/Midwest Torrance Center for Creativity

The Center for Gifted/Midwest Torrance Center for Creativity is offering in-person remote learning supervision and support. It is also offering in-person small group sessions for social interaction and friend group programs covering a variety of course topics. All classes are maximum 10 children and follow specific public health guidelines.
