STEM
At Hawthorn, we are deeply committed to harnessing the power of STEM education to cultivate creative problem-solvers and inspire lifelong learners.
Through our implementation of the Project Lead the Way curriculum, we offer a dynamic environment where intellectual curiosity is nurtured, and individual passions can flourish. Our STEM programs are incubators of innovation where students have the time, space, and resources to explore interests ranging from 3D design, to coding and programming, to medical science.
Hawthorn's STEM education is not just a subject; it's a launchpad for our students to make meaningful contributions to our ever-changing world.
LIBRARIES
Our libraries equip students and staff to explore new ideas and enhance their learning. Curiosity is fostered. Students better understand and contribute to our world.
Over the next few years, the library spaces in each of our buildings will be revamped to meet the needs of students and staff. The libraries will be flexible and adaptable to many different uses. Hawthorn libraries will be an inviting space to read, explore, and learn.
eSPORTS
We are excited to share that Hawthorn School District 73 is looking into starting new Esports programs. This effort aims to give students a fun way to build teamwork, think strategically, and become more comfortable with technology.
Whether through intramural middle school competitions or special events scattered throughout the academic year, we're in the early stages of designing programs that will be both engaging and educational. As with our other curricular offerings, our new Esports endeavor represents yet another way for Hawthorn students to explore, connect, and grow in a world rich with diverse opportunities.
