Hawthorn District 73 is located in Lake County, IL and serves the communities of Vernon Hills, Libertyville, Mundelein, Mettawa, Indian Creek and parts of unincorporated Lake County. District 73 is a preschool through eighth-grade school district where more than 3,500 students attend nine schools. There are 600 employees who oversee the students' education. The majority of District 73 students attend Vernon Hills High School with a few students attending Stevenson High School and Mundelein High School.
The diversity of our population is celebrated at Hawthorn! Across the district, more than 60 languages are spoken in our students' homes, and we serve students from a diverse socio-economic spectrum.
Hawthorn is dedicated to ensuring the success of the whole child, going so far as to make it one of our District goals.
