Each year Hawthorn students are among the winners of Cook Memorial Public Library’s Design a Bookmark Contest. You can pick up information about the contest (including the actual blank bookmark to be used) at any Hawthorn school library or at Cook Park or Aspen Drive libraries. The deadline to submit designs is March 17, 2021.
The contest is open to students in grades K-8 who are residents of the Cook Library District or who attend school in the district. Your design should feature a favorite book or book character. Be creative and original. One entry per student, and one student per entry.
Fill in all the information requested on the back of the bookmark. Please write clearly. Drop off your entry at any Cook Library location or at a Hawthorn school library.
First place designs in each category will be printed and distributed for library patrons to enjoy. All book marks will be on display on the library’s website: www.cooklib.org. Contest winners will be invited to an art reception in the near future.
