Welcome to Hawthorn! Whether you are a returning family, a student stepping into our classrooms for the first time, or a community member invested in our local schools, I am absolutely thrilled to welcome you to another incredible year of learning, growth, and achievement.

The Hawthorn School District consists of nine schools, including an early childhood center, a kindergarten building, four elementary schools, a dual language school and two middle schools. We serve the communities of Vernon Hills, Mundelein, Libertyville, Indian Creek and unincorporated areas of Lake County, Illinois.

In Hawthorn District 73, our mission goes beyond academic excellence. We are deeply committed to nurturing the whole child, ensuring that every single student who walks through our doors feels safe, valued, included, and inspired.
