Hawthorn History

Today, Hawthorn School District 73 in Vernon Hills is a sizable district consisting of eight buildings serving more than 4,200 students. But, there was a time when a one-room school house served the community. The foresight of a few key individuals and ongoing community support played significant roles in shaping the district into what it is today.
