While its buildings were closed, the District continued to offer a wide range of programs for students over the summer. It provided virtual forms of the Extended School Year, Summer Scholars Program and the Hawthorn Enrichment Institute (HEI). Approximately 130 students attended HEI, participating in classes in cooking, STEM, art, coding, sign language and more. Each week, the District also posted optional learning activities developed by teachers at each grade level to provide reading and math skills practice over the summer.
